Official business begins at 10:04 AM
Old Business –
Homeless camp clean-up and vagrancy issues
- No vagrancy issues to report currently by any Board Members.
- Active police presence was on site on Marco Beach Drive during July. This is due perhaps to the
shooting that took place across the street at Wawa or due to camp clean up. Patricia Steward
with Global Tissue mentioned JSO being parked across the street for days at a time.
o JSO did notify the EPOA Board of the abandoned camps it located, and these were
cleaned up by Trashouts within the timeframe required to do so.
- Dave Workman advised that the lock was cut (for the third or fourth time) on the fence that
leads to one of the park ponds. This is likely being done by the landscapers servicing this area –
PRG to determine who is doing this and see if they will permit Dave’s lock to stay on the fence.
o PRG can try to locate a contact within DOT to see if they have someone we can speak
with about this ongoing issue.
Installation of No Parking Signs under 295 Overpass
- Sign installation was completed by DOT. Signs are smaller than we would like and are all facing in
the direction of traffic.
- PRG has seen some construction vehicles parked under the overpass and some other vehicles
that are not permitted there. Will continue to monitor.
New Business –
New Landscaping Company in Park
- Irrigation inspection has been scheduled with Hulihan Territory as the islands were looking a bit
dry. The landscape team reported this as well and could not perform the necessary inspection or
repairs.
- St. Johns Bluff Rd entrance sign has been looking like it needs attention. Steve says he has seen
some weeds within the gravel and
COJ Public Works
- UNF reported that they had contacted the city to address the standing water issues on Central
Parkway.
- Public works will be performing some work in the area to address this problem with the drainage
ditches.
3723 Regent Blvd
- Owners have been very responsive to PRG and have addressed the landscaping concerns and are
actively addressing the pond maintenance needed.
- There was a communication issue between owner and tenant, and this has since been resolved.
- PRG made a vendor recommendation for the pond, and they have already reached out. Will
monitor as they progress
Chip Cordes makes a motion to adjourn the meeting. Steve Perez seconds.
Official Business concluded at 10:18 AM.
